Family Friday.

It has arrived....

The weekend before Christmas. This means work, work and more work. To be honest I do not mind working like mad over Christmas. There is an amazing buzz and atmosphere about the shop and it is constantly busy which makes the day go in fast. It also means saving pennies for NEW YORK. However this year I am sure I will have a tear in my eye. Anne Mason has been my department manager since I got moved to ladies wear a few years ago and her last day will be Christmas eve. She cured my love to wander away for 30 minutes when I said I was only going to the toilet or sometimes I would just do a disappearing act. I quite often "Do her nut in" which only makes me laugh more. I have never had the bond I have with Anne with any other manager during my time in retail. When I am down or having a panic attack she knows how to calm me down. Little does she know that I will be phoning her on a regular basis.....

Due to working more in Cruise I have had little time to do styling. However Eric sent me an email explaining a project he would like me to style called "Winter Light". It will involve beauty and fashion shoots outdoors. "It is about capturing natural beauty in natural light, really stripping back from the glossy look to a more natural and emotive look." I am super duper excited about these test shoots as it means I can hopefully use some of my knitwear designs. I wish the wind, rain and snow would stop so we could get shooting! I suppose it give me something to look forward to after Christmas and New Year.

Family Friday 

Today I was up super early as we were getting our bathroom floors fitted.
SNAKESKIN & SPARKLES. I then went back to bed for a much needed "long lie". I was planning on having a lazy day and not getting out of my PJs but Kazzamama called and it was off to Costco we went. We picked up my Granmama on the way. She is a sweetpea. She had a hip replacment a few weeks ago but still wants to go shopping trips with The Barker girls. Kazza was giving her wheelies in her wheelchair. Can't take them anywhere. Mary doll purchased me a beautiful faux fur gillet that will come in very handy in NYC. It was a very successful day and we even managed to pick up a Christmas tree for mama on our way home, I think the guy was ready to hit her with it due to how fussy she was. PERFECTIONIST.

CREEP.

Good evening/morning bloggers.

As you can probably tell I can't sleep. I guess I am thinking too much. Therefore I decided to upload some thoughts on to y'all.

Have you ever had that feeling when you want something so bad you need it NOW?

That is how I felt when a girl came in my work wearing Alexander Wang creepers.

I love everything about them. They are so masculine and chunky which is what I love about them. IF I had a pair I would team them with something girly because I love a contrast or you could always go for the total androgynous look. Either way they are freaking fabulous. I have always had a secret love for creepers. The definition of my style would have to be a gothic magpie. I like emo, gothic and skater clothing but at the same time I love sequins, sheer and sparkles. My little sibling purchased her 1st pair a few days ago which is what inspired me to get up at 1.30am and write about them. 

This pair are by Sonia Rykiel and are my dream pair of creepers.

I was lucky when I done an internship with Mark Fast - I had a beautiful place to stay which was only a 30 minute walk from the studio. I had a fabulous experience working with Mark, I felt like part of his team and as I time went on it felt like family. No amount of money could match the experience and skills I learned from working there. However I do know some people who stuggled and getting a wage from the company would have made life easier. I graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in June, specialising in Knitwear and I am curretnly working full-time in retail. I have been put off applying for internships as I need a steady income. 

I was starting to give up looking for design jobs but after reading this article it has given me a boost to keep applying. It is a sign that you should never stop reaching for your goal.

She understands my blondeness. Sometimes I do not think she can handle how laid back I am but of course that is why we click. I need her for back up and she needs me to calm her down. I have some unforgettable memories with this girl from London to Cancun, dancing in the rain and the fear we had when someone kept knocking on our door in Cancun. We needed each other that night for shizzle.

Chill out Sunday.

 Good morning

Today - I AM OFF

I could not tell you how much I needed a little Sunday off. There is literally so much I want to do today....

READ SOME OF MY FAVOURITE BLOGS, TIDY THE FLAT, VISIT MY FAMILY AND CHILL OUT.

Not going to the Christmas party resulted in a Tesco trip to buy lots & lots of party food. My favourite item in the trolley was "pigs in blankets". We came home and had a little feast, fit for S&G. I fell asleep pretty early which is good as I think I have been needing a good snooze. All I remember is G waking up very grumpy SIB. Never good. 

I hope all my little Cruise workers had a fabulous night and drank plenty of G&Ts (THEEE BEST DRINK) and shots for me. Cruise is like one massive family. Everyone is super duper close. Do not know where I would be without my "Cruise girls & guys". Before leaving work last night Erin, April and I had a very deep conversation around the staff room table, the only thing that was missing was a bottle of wine, instead we had some sort of Jack Daniel's beer. We had all finished at 6 but of course stayed in the shop till 7.....

I LOVED OUR CHAT LADIES.

Speaking of family, nothing can beat The Barkers.

I never used to get on great with any of my family but since moving out I appreciate them all so much. I love to hang out with my mama. We get chucked out while having coffee in restaurants and kill time in card shops. 

She is my best friend.

My little sibling is in a league of her own. There are no words to describe this little girl.

She is pretty much CRAZY.

My Papatano is theeee funniest Dad ever. He loves his crazy music which sounds like they are singing "Sarah". He is a perfectionist which means it will take him a year to paint one room. JOKE.

Pauly B is the male version of my sister. He has never grown up. He is extremely easy to buy a Christmas present for as he just wants TOYS TOYS TOYS.

Party Pooper.

Good evening 

I have wanted to update y'all everyday however I have literally been too tired.

Not good. SIBA must man up and get typing. Cruise is my life at the moment. Which involves spreading some festive love to the Christmas shoppers. 

I love Christmas which is why I do not understand why happy happy happy sib has been feeling so down. Like I said to my little friend Bobbie I think there was something in that crazy wind which has driven people mad.

MAD HATTERS!!!!

I had a much needed day off today. Days off result in spending time with my Barking mad family. It is a rare occassion I get to spend all day with Kazzamama so I was out the door at 8.30am. She treated me to a beautiful facial and microdermabrasion. 

It worked a treat. 

I feel cool, calm and collective.

Laid back and happy Sarah is back.

Positive attitude is coming your way tomorrow.

Mother bear and I then went a trip to Costco as it was an "automatic" thing to do in Kazza's eyes. I purchased a pair of fabulous snowboots as it is all about keeping warm with a hint of fur.

Have I mentioned S&G are going to NYC???

These beauties will be perfect for a winter wonderland with my beau in NY.

I am super excited to wear these to work tomorrow then obviously change into my heels and they only cost me £35. Worth every penny.

It is time for me to chill out with G in our fabulously decorated black and gold festive flat.
